Animals on our Farm
Cwmcrwth Farm is a small farm home to a selection of animals. Guests are more than welcome to wander the farmyard and meet the animals.
Oxford Sandy & Black Pigs
Oxford Sandy and Black pigs are a traditional rare breed animal which neared extinction 20 years ago. Well recognised for its mothering skills and calm temperament and its ability to deal with all types of conditions make it an ideal pig for Cwmcrwth Farm.
Highland Cattle
Highland Cattle are one of Britain’s oldest, most distinctive, and best known breeds, with a long, thick, flowing coat and large horns. Originating from Western Scotland these animals are ideally suited to the Welsh weather and habitat.
The Cwmcrwth Fold consists of Poppy and Isla our beautiful cows.
Very popular with guests to watch and photograph
Goats
We have a small herd of Golden Guernsey goats. The Golden Guernsey goat is indigenous to Guernsey but has been saved from extinction by breeding on mainland Britain.
Chickens
We keep a selection of chickens for a regular supply of eggs including rehomed warrens from a commercial Free Range farm. Others include light Sussex and the majestic Buff Orpington Chickens.
Pets Corner
Also known as Cwtch Corner (cwtch is Welsh for cuddle), we have a small pets corner in the cottage courtyard. We have a pet rabbit Sooty and 3 bantam chickens Molly, Pearl and Clementine. We also have 4 guinea pigs Dennis, Leonard, Geoffrey and Harriet.
